The North American Truffle Growers’ Association is a non-profit group dedicated to producing more truffles in North America. _______________________________
Formed in 2002 to propagate truffle development in the United States and further educate consumers, chefs and growers. The company was co-founded by Jack & Aron Ponticelli, father and son, along with partner Franklin Garland. In only five years since planting trees, Piedmont Valley Truffles has successfully produced truffles. _______________________________
Robin Weant is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In addition to Robin's 25 years of real estate experience she also holds a BA in psychology, owns a small vineyard and truffle farm in Lewisville, NC, serves as a member of the North American Truffle Growers Association (NATAGA) and has earned certification in viticulture and enolgy. Her wines recently won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the Dixie Classic Fair. Located in Stokes County, NC, Keep Your Fork Farm has two orchards which have several hundred trees producing Black Perigord Truffles. Martha Stewart came to visited in January, 2007 for their harvest. _______________________________________
Harvest is a unique 213-acre farm community located within the pastoral New Hope Valley in Chatham County, North Carolina. Known for having some of the best soil in the state, this fertile valley is ideally suited for agriculture. Consisting of only 19 homesites with a minimum of ten acres each, extensive parts of the property are set aside for organic farming, community activities, recreation, and preservation of open space. Plans for the Central Farm include a vineyard, lavender fields, a truffle orchard, and a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. |
